This event is hosted by The Rochester Art Club.
Free and open to public, Suite #458
Rochester Art Club Signature Member, Brian O’Neill is an internationally recognized fine art painter with a working and teaching studio located in the historic Hungerford Building in Rochester, NY. O’Neill is well known for both his oil realism work as well as his dynamic and expressive contemporary abstract paintings.
Brian will demonstrate the methods he uses and teaches in both painting and drawing.
This program will give insight into the training that Brian’s students receive and will feature examples of student work in both realism and abstract. The focus of the two-hour presentation will cover inspiration, pressure control, accurate proportions and shape replication, value, color, and how you can simplify any complex subject matter through dark and light abstract shapes. Brian will also share his oil paint pallet and how to achieve a wide variety of believable values for representational work.
Students of the Brian O’Neill Studio will display talk briefly about work they have made in the studio and how the training has influenced their other work in a variety of mediums.
